It's a calm, leafy lakeside estate with an open-air chapel among the trees and a 9-hole golf course, taken on exclusive hire so the whole day feels private and unhurried. The light comes off the lake soft and clear in the morning, and that relaxed, garden-and-water setting is exactly the kind our hair and makeup is made for.
We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who travel to you. Rather than asking you to drive off-site on the morning of your wedding, we bring the full salon set-up to your getting-ready space at The Abbey so you can stay put, stay relaxed and soak up the quiet before the day begins. We're both fully trained in hair and makeup, so depending on your party size we'll either work side by side as a team of two or one of us will look after a smaller group.
Our style is natural, sun-kissed and beach-bohemian, never heavy or overdone. We build skin that still looks like you on your best day and lasts from your first look down by the chapel right through to the last dance, designed to hold up to a warm, open lakeside afternoon.
What we know about styling a wedding at The Abbey Cobaki
The Abbey's on-site bridal suite means you can get ready right where you're marrying, with no morning drive off the property. We set up our chairs, lighting and kit there and work around you while the bridal party comes and goes. It's a calm, private base, and because the estate is yours on exclusive hire, staying put buys back precious time before the chapel.
Being on the lake, the morning light here is soft and even, which is gorgeous for getting-ready photos and exactly what we want when we're checking your makeup. We always finish your look near that natural light so we can see it the way the camera and your guests will, then balance it so you read luminous in the suite and still defined out across the open grounds and at the chapel.
With the open-air chapel and grounds all on the one estate, the walk from the suite is short, so there are no travel buffers eating into your morning. Lakeside venues photograph beautifully early, though, so couples often want first-look or garden photos before the ceremony. We build the run sheet backwards from your photographer's call time, not just the ceremony, so you're finished with room to spare.
