Salt Bar sits right on the sand at Salt Village, Kingscliff, where the light comes straight off the ocean and everything feels soft, bright and unhurried. It is the kind of beachfront setting that suits a natural, sun-kissed bride beautifully, but that same coastal light and sea air is also exactly what your hair and makeup needs to be built for. That is where we come in.
We are Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who are both fully trained in hair and makeup. We are mobile, so we travel to you, setting up wherever you are getting ready in Salt Village or nearby Kingscliff. Because Salt Bar does not have its own dedicated bridal suite, most of our couples prepare at their accommodation close by, and we build the whole morning around that short, relaxed walk or drive to the ceremony.
Our style is warm, natural and a little beach-bohemian. Skin that looks like skin, hair that moves with the breeze rather than fighting it, and a look that still feels like you by sunset. We can work a wedding as a team of two to keep your bridal party flowing on time, or one of us can look after a smaller group, whichever suits your day.
What we know about getting ready near Salt Bar
Salt Bar itself does not have a dedicated bridal suite, so almost every couple gets ready at their accommodation in Salt Village — apartments and resorts a short stroll from the venue. We are fully mobile and bring everything with us, so a bright apartment, villa or hotel room close by works perfectly. We just need a window for natural light and a bit of bench or table space to lay out our kit.
This is a true beachfront location, so the natural light is strong and bounces off the sand and water. It is gorgeous for photos but it shows everything, which is why we build skin and definition that reads beautifully outdoors rather than only under indoor lighting. We set your makeup to hold up in sea air and coastal warmth so it still looks fresh when you step onto the sand.
Because you are getting ready so close to the venue, there is no long transfer to factor in — but Salt Village can get busy and the coastal sun is bright early. We like to finish hair and makeup with a calm buffer before your ceremony, so there is time for your dress, veil and a few quiet minutes before you walk out to the beach or garden.

What time should hair and makeup start for a Salt Bar wedding? +
It depends on your ceremony time and party size, but for a beachfront ceremony at Salt Bar we usually start around 7:30–8:00am and finish with a calm buffer before you walk out. Because you get ready so close to the venue there is no long transfer, but the coastal sun is bright early, so we like a relaxed finish rather than a last-minute rush. We will map exact times with you once we know your run sheet.
Do you travel to Salt Bar and Salt Village, Kingscliff? +
Yes — we are a fully mobile wedding hair and makeup duo and we come to you. Since Salt Bar does not have its own bridal suite, we set up at your accommodation in Salt Village or nearby Kingscliff. Kingscliff is around 25–35 minutes from the Gold Coast and roughly an hour from Byron Bay, all well within our Tweed Coast service area.
Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Salt Bar? +
Absolutely. Because we are both trained in hair and makeup, we can work as a team of two to look after a full bridal party and keep the morning flowing on time, or one of us can handle a smaller, more intimate group. Just let us know your numbers and whether you want hair, makeup or both for each person, and we will build the timeline around it.
Will my makeup last in the beach and sea air at Salt Bar? +
Yes. Salt Bar is a true beachfront venue with strong light, warmth and sea air, so we choose and set your makeup specifically to hold up through an outdoor ceremony and a long day of photos. We focus on skin that looks natural but stays put, and we leave you with a few touch-up essentials so you feel fresh from the ceremony through to the dance floor.
