Mt Warning (Wollumbin) rises to the west, the Pacific glints to the east, and the light up on that hilltop is bright, open and a little breezy. We build your hair and makeup for exactly those conditions, so you look soft and sun-kissed in the front garden at noon and still glowing when the sunset photos start.
We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who both trained professionally in hair and makeup. We come to you, set up wherever you're getting ready, and work calmly through the morning so the whole getting-ready part feels like the nicest stretch of the day rather than a rush. Depending on your party size we'll work side by side as a team of two, or one of us will look after a smaller group start to finish.
Our style is natural, beach-bohemian and made to last in the Tweed Coast heat and breeze. No heavy, cakey makeup or stiff styling that fights the wind on that front lawn. Just you, looking like the most relaxed, radiant version of yourself, with looks that hold from the first-look right through to a sunset ceremony over the orchard and the last dance after dark.
What we know about getting ready at Fins
Fins sits up on the plantation with two ceremony spots — the front garden with its Mt Warning sunset outlook, or the private orchard under the 120-year-old fig tree — so where you get ready is built around your run sheet. We set up our chairs and kit on-site, or if you're staying nearby in Kingscliff, Casuarina or Cabarita the night before, we're just as happy to come to your accommodation and travel up with you. Either way we bring everything — lighting, products, the lot.
Up on the plantation the light is bright and open, with glare bouncing off the ocean to the east and the valley below, especially around a midday ceremony. We light and check your makeup against that strong natural light rather than dim indoor mirrors, so there are no surprises when you step out onto the front lawn for photos.
