It is a setting built around light and views, and your hair and makeup need to hold up to both. We are Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who travel to the estate, set up in the private beauty room, and create soft, natural, sun-kissed looks made to last from the hilltop ceremony right through to the last dance in the white barn.
We are both fully trained in hair and makeup, so depending on your party size we either work side by side as a team of two or split the morning between us to keep things calm and on schedule. No rushing, no chaos, no piling everyone into a car and driving off to a salon before the day has even started. We come to you, settle into the beauty room, and bring the whole morning to where you are getting ready.
Summergrove sits about half an hour from the heart of the Gold Coast and is an easy run from the Tweed Coast and Byron, so wherever your guests are travelling from, your morning stays unhurried. We plan the timeline around your chapel time, the bright hilltop light and those first-look photos, so you step out looking like the most natural, glowing version of yourself.
What we know about getting ready at Summergrove
Summergrove has a dedicated private beauty room, so there is a proper, purpose-built spot to get ready rather than crowding into a bedroom. With villas across the 73-acre property, your party can stay on-site the night before and wander up to the beauty room in robes - no early drive, no traffic. We set up our chairs and kit there and turn it into a calm little salon for the morning.
This is a venue defined by light. The hilltop sits open to bright sky, and the chapel's floor-to-ceiling glass floods you with daylight against the ocean and the mountains. Bright, high-contrast light is honest light - it shows everything - so we build makeup that reads beautifully in full sun and on camera, with skin that looks like skin and just enough definition to hold its own next to those views.
The morning runs around your chapel ceremony and the photos before it. Being elevated and open, the hilltop can catch a breeze, so we factor wind into how we finish hair - soft, secure styles that move nicely but won't blow apart between the chapel and the gardens. We also leave a little buffer for the short walk between getting-ready, ceremony and the barn so you are never sprinting in heels.

What time should hair and makeup start at Summergrove Estate? +
It depends on your party size and chapel time, but for a typical bridal party we usually arrive around 7:30am and start by 8am. We work through the party first and finish with you, the bride, so you're freshest for the ceremony. Once we know your numbers and ceremony time we build a run sheet backwards from there with a comfortable buffer.
Do you travel to Summergrove Estate in Carool for wedding hair and makeup? +
Yes - we're a fully mobile sister duo and Carool is well within our patch. We come to you and set up in the estate's private beauty room. Summergrove is about 30 minutes from the central Gold Coast and an easy run from the Tweed Coast and Byron, so travelling up to the hilltop is no trouble at all.
Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Summergrove? +
Absolutely. Because we're both trained in hair and makeup, we can either work as a team of two side by side or split the morning between us, which means we can comfortably look after the bride plus bridesmaids, mums and any special guests while keeping everyone calm and on time.
Will my makeup last through the day in the chapel and outdoors? +
Yes. Summergrove is a bright, open, hilltop venue and you'll be moving between the glass chapel, the gardens and the barn, so we build long-wear looks designed to hold up in full sun and warmth. We use products that stay put for the ceremony, photos and dancing, and we leave you with the right finishing touches for a quick refresh.
