We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who travel to you with everything we need, so you never have to leave the estate or the people you love to get wedding-ready.
Because Shambala is an exclusive-use property with self-contained cottages on site, you and your bridal party can settle into one space for the entire morning. We set up our chairs by the best window, lay out the kit, and work through the group while the kettle goes on and the photographer drifts in and out. No salon run, no traffic up the range, no rushing back for the ceremony — just a calm, unhurried morning in a beautiful room.
Both of us are professionally trained in hair and makeup, so for larger parties we work side by side as a team of two and keep everyone moving. Our style suits this venue perfectly: natural, soft and a little beach-bohemian, skin that looks like skin, finished so it photographs beautifully in that bright hinterland light and holds through a long day of greenery, garden ceremonies and dancing.
What we know about getting ready at Shambala Estate
Shambala's cottages are tucked among the rainforest, and being exclusive-use means the property is yours for the day. We base ourselves in one cottage and set up a proper styling station so the whole party gets ready together in one warm, private spot. Tip: claim the cottage with the most natural light early, and keep the bath and fireplace for relaxing rather than crowding the getting-ready corner.
Up on the mountain the morning light comes down soft and green through that lush canopy — gorgeous, but cooler and flatter than full sun. For a mid-afternoon ceremony we usually arrive around 8am and start by 8:30am, finishing with the bride last so your look is freshest for the aisle. The right start time depends on your ceremony time and party size — as a rough guide, allow about 45 minutes per person for hair and makeup combined. Once we know your details we'll send a clear run sheet.
Do you travel to Shambala Estate for wedding hair and makeup? +
Yes — we're a fully mobile service and Tamborine Mountain is well within our area. We come to your cottage on the estate with everything we need, so you and your bridal party get ready together on site without leaving the property. It's around 45–55 minutes up the range for us from the central Gold Coast, and we build that drive into the morning so we arrive early and unhurried.
Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Shambala Estate? +
Absolutely. Both of us are trained in hair and makeup, so for larger groups we work as a team of two and move through the party efficiently — from an intimate bride-only morning up to a full party of six to eight. We'll talk through numbers and build a timeline that keeps the morning relaxed.
Will my makeup last all day at a hinterland venue like Shambala? +
Yes. We use long-wear, photography-friendly products with proper prep and setting, so your look holds through the cooler rainforest morning, the warmer open gardens and a long evening of dancing.
