Natural bridal hair & makeup at Tamborine Mountain Glades

There's a particular kind of magic to getting married in the rainforest, and Tamborine Mountain Glades has it in spades. Tucked into the Gold Coast Hinterland alongside Cedar Creek and Tamborine National Park, the estate wraps you in tall trees, the sound of tumbling water and that cool, soft, filtered mountain light. It's the kind of setting that asks for a relaxed, natural look rather than anything heavy or done-up, and that's exactly the kind of bridal hair and makeup we love to create.

We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who are both fully trained in hair and makeup. We come to you, so on your wedding morning we'll drive up the mountain and set up right inside your lodge while you stay in your robe with a coffee in hand. Whether you're a bride getting ready solo in one of the Creek Lodges on the banks of Cedar Creek or a full party spread across the accommodation, we work calmly and to a clear timeline so the morning feels unhurried.

Our style is soft, sun-kissed and skin-first; makeup that looks like you on your best day and holds up through a rainforest ceremony, photos by the creek and dancing into the night. We tailor every look to the light and the humidity up here, so you stay glowing whether you're under the canopy of the Rainforest Amphitheatre, beside the water at the Island Glade or inside the warmer tones of The Sanctuary.

Getting ready at Tamborine Mountain Glades

The space

Most of our brides here get ready on-site in one of the rainforest lodges. The Creek Lodges, sitting right on the banks of Cedar Creek, are a favourite for their privacy and their closeness to the Rainforest Amphitheatre and the creek-side ceremony spaces. We set up our chair near the best window we can find and bring everything with us, so a cosy lodge becomes a calm little glam studio for the morning.

The light

Mountain light is gorgeous but tricky — the rainforest canopy filters it cooler and softer than the beaches below, and it shifts as the day warms up. We balance our makeup so your foundation, blush and glow read beautifully both in that soft filtered light and under the warmer interior tones of The Sanctuary, never grey or washed out in photos.

The timing

You're up the mountain and a little removed from the coast, so we build the morning around that. We factor in your photographer's arrival, the walk down to the Rainforest Amphitheatre or Island Glade and a few quiet minutes before you head out, so there's always time for final touch-ups and a deep breath rather than a last-minute scramble.

Experience you can trust

A safe, known choice for your hinterland wedding

Getting married up the mountain comes with its own quirks — the light is softer and cooler under the canopy, the humidity is higher, and you're a little removed from the coast. We're completely at home with hinterland weddings: both of us are professionally trained in hair and makeup, fully insured, and we know how to make a look that reads beautifully in filtered rainforest light and holds through a long, warm day outdoors.

Because we're a sister duo who travel together, you're never relying on one person or a stranger turning up on the morning. We set up calmly inside your Creek Lodge, keep to a clear timeline and tailor everything to your wedding — so the biggest decision you have to make before the aisle is which coffee to have.

Venue FAQs

What time should hair and makeup start for a Tamborine Mountain Glades wedding? +

For a midday or early-afternoon ceremony we usually arrive around 7:30am and start with the bridal party first, finishing on the bride. Because the venue is up the mountain we build in a little extra buffer for photographer arrival and the walk down to your ceremony space by Cedar Creek. Once we know your ceremony time and party size we'll send a clear, relaxed run sheet.

Do you travel to Tamborine Mountain Glades for wedding hair and makeup? +

Yes — we're a fully mobile service and travel to you. We come up the mountain and set up right inside your Creek Lodge, so you can get ready on-site without driving anywhere on the morning. Tamborine Mountain is around 45 minutes from the Gold Coast and well within our service area.

Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Tamborine Mountain Glades? +

Absolutely. There are two of us, both trained in hair and makeup, so we can look after intimate weddings or a full bridal party and family getting ready together. Working as a team of two lets us run hair and makeup at the same time and keep the whole morning calm and on schedule.

Will my makeup last through a rainforest ceremony and reception? +

Yes. We tailor every look to the mountain — the cooler, filtered light and the rainforest humidity — using long-wear, skin-first products and techniques built to hold. Your makeup is made to last from your creek-side ceremony at the Rainforest Amphitheatre through your photos and into the dancing, and we leave you with a few touch-up tips just in case.
