Getting ready at Rosewood Estate

High on the Lamington Plateau at Beechmont, Rosewood Estate sits around 600 metres above the coast, with ceremony lawns that open out over the Numinbah Valley and views stretching all the way to the water. It is one of the most breathtaking spots in the Gold Coast hinterland to marry, and the light up here has its own character, crisp and bright on the hilltops, softer in the garden corners, with mountain air that moves through everything. We build your hair and makeup with that in mind.

As a mobile sister duo, we come to you. We arrive at the estate's Rosewood House homestead, set up in the morning light, and create a calm little pocket of getting-ready while the rest of the day unfolds around you. Tina and Kristen are both fully trained in hair and makeup, so depending on your party size we either work side by side as a team of two or split the day to keep everyone moving without a rush.

Our style is natural, soft and sun-kissed, the kind of bridal look that feels like you on your best day rather than a heavy, made-up version. Skin that still looks like skin, hair that holds through the breeze and the dancing, and finishes chosen to photograph beautifully against those wide hinterland vistas as well as the quieter homestead moments.

Local knowledge

What we know about getting ready here

The space

You will most likely get ready in Rosewood House, the on-site homestead where bridal parties stay as part of the venue hire. It is a genuine bonus, your party can wake up on the property, so there is no early drive up the mountain. We set up wherever the light and space work best, usually near the verandah or a bright window, and keep our kit tidy and out of your way.

The light

At around 600 metres the daylight here is clear and high-contrast, gorgeous for photos but unforgiving on anything heavy or cakey. We work to that, building skin that reads soft and luminous rather than matte and flat, so you look fresh in the bright ceremony-lawn light and still glow in the softer garden and homestead corners.

The timing

This is a mountain property, so mornings can start cool and breezy even in summer. We factor that in, longer-wear hair that holds against the plateau wind, and a touch more staying power in the makeup. Because the homestead is right there, you are never far from us for a quick check before you head out to the lawn.

Experience you can trust

A safe pair of hands for a hinterland morning

Marrying on a mountain estate like Rosewood adds a few real considerations, the bright high-altitude light, the breeze across the ceremony lawn, the cooler start to the morning. Because we work hinterland venues across the Gold Coast regularly, we know how to build hair and makeup that holds up to all of it, so your look still feels fresh from the homestead through to the last dance.

We are both fully trained in hair and makeup and fully insured, and we treat your wedding morning as something to protect, calm, organised and on time. You get two experienced artists who know how to read the light and the timing at a venue like this, so the one job you do not have to worry about is how you and your party will look.

Venue FAQs

What time should hair and makeup start for a Rosewood Estate wedding? +

For a typical mid-afternoon ceremony we usually arrive around 8:30am and start the bridal party from 9am, with the bride finished last so you are at your freshest. The exact start depends on your ceremony time and how many people are getting hair and makeup, so we build a precise run sheet with you. Because Beechmont is up the mountain, we always allow comfortable travel time so the morning never feels rushed.

Do you travel to Rosewood Estate in Beechmont for wedding hair and makeup? +

Yes, we are a fully mobile service and Beechmont is well within our area, roughly a 30-minute drive up from the Gold Coast. We come to the Rosewood House homestead and bring everything with us, so you and your party can get ready right there on the property without leaving the estate.

Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Rosewood Estate? +

Absolutely. Tina and Kristen are both trained in hair and makeup, so we work as a team of two and can look after the bride plus bridesmaids, mums and family. For larger parties we plan the morning carefully so everyone is ready in good time, and the homestead gives us plenty of room to set up.

Will my wedding makeup last all day in the hinterland weather at Rosewood Estate? +

Yes. We choose long-wearing products and techniques suited to the bright, breezy conditions on the plateau, and we always do final touch-ups before we leave. Your look is built to hold through the ceremony on the lawn, photos across the property and into the reception.
