Pioneer Country Wedding Hair & Makeup
Bridal hair & makeup at Pioneer Country
Pioneer Country is one of those rare venues where the whole day unfolds across open land: 170 acres of fifth-generation farmland at Tweed Heads South, with a plantation-style white chapel, established shade trees to say your vows beneath, and a fairy-lit rustic barn to dance in. It is relaxed, down-to-earth and full of golden country light, and that is exactly the kind of day we love to be part of.
We are Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who travel to you with everything we need to get your morning ready right where you are staying. Because Pioneer Country is exclusively yours for the day and sits just over the border from the Gold Coast, most brides settle into nearby accommodation to get ready, then make the short trip out to the property. We plan around that, so you arrive at the chapel calm, finished and glowing rather than rushing in from somewhere else.
Our style is soft, natural and sun-kissed, made to suit the open paddocks, dappled tree shade and warm timber of the barn. Both of us are fully trained in hair and makeup, so whether one of us comes to you or we work together as a team of two, your look is consistent, comfortable and built to last from a daytime ceremony through to a late-evening farewell.
Getting ready for a Pioneer Country wedding
Pioneer Country keeps the focus on its grounds rather than a fixed bridal suite, so most couples get ready at accommodation nearby and travel in. That suits us perfectly — we are fully mobile and bring our own chair, lighting and full kit, so a Gold Coast apartment, a Tweed holiday home or a resort room near the venue all become a calm, well-lit getting-ready space. Tell us where you are staying and we will set up around you.
This is a property built for golden light — open paddocks, the dappled shade under its established trees and the white timber of the chapel catching the sun. We balance and set your makeup so it reads soft and natural in that bright, filtered country light and holds up just as beautifully for sunset photos out across the farmland.
Because there is a short drive from your accommodation out to the property, plus walks between the chapel, the grounds and the barn, we build a little buffer into the morning. We finish you with time to spare so you are never chasing the clock — just relaxed, photo-ready and able to enjoy the quiet before everyone arrives.

A relaxed, reassuring choice for your Pioneer Country wedding
A farm wedding has its own rhythm — bright open light, dappled shade under the trees, a short trip between getting-ready and the chapel, and a long day from ceremony to a late-evening finish. We know how to plan around all of it, so your hair and makeup are built for the conditions rather than fighting them.
We are both fully trained and fully insured, with a 5.0 rating across 41 reviews and 98% of couples happy to recommend us. Whether one of us comes to you or we work as a team of two, you get a calm, professional getting-ready experience and a soft, natural look made to last every hour of your day.

What time should hair and makeup start for a Pioneer Country wedding? +
For a typical mid-afternoon ceremony we usually start around 8 to 8:30 am. Because there is a short drive from your accommodation out to the 170-acre property, we build in a buffer so you are finished and relaxed well before you need to leave. Once we know your ceremony time and bridal-party size we will send you an exact run sheet.
Do you travel to Pioneer Country and the surrounding accommodation? +
Yes — we are a fully mobile sister duo and travel to you. Pioneer Country sits at Tweed Heads South, roughly 10 minutes from the Gold Coast and Gold Coast Airport and 30 minutes north of Byron Bay, and we come to wherever you are staying nearby with our own chair, professional lighting and full kit.
Can you do hair and makeup for my whole bridal party at Pioneer Country? +
Absolutely. We look after everyone from the bride on her own to a full bridal party plus mums. Both of us are trained in hair and makeup, so for larger groups we can come as a team of two to keep the morning flowing and finish comfortably on time.
Will my makeup last through a full day at Pioneer Country? +
Yes. We use long-wearing, photography-friendly products and set everything to handle a warm country day — from the open paddocks and outdoor photos to a late-evening finish in the barn. We can also leave you a small touch-up so your lips stay fresh into the evening.
