Tucked into the Gold Coast hinterland at Mudgeeraba, on the edge of Springbrook National Park, Kwila Lodge is a lovingly restored estate, once an old dairy on this land, now wrapped in towering trees, garden lawns, a quiet creekside and a private pond. It's the kind of place you settle into the night before, wake slowly in the on-site accommodation, and let the morning unfold at its own pace. That unhurried, green-and-golden feeling is exactly what we dress your look for.
We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who travel to you. Both of us are professionally trained in hair and makeup, so depending on your party size we'll come as a team of two or one of us will look after a smaller group on her own. Either way, we arrive at your lodge with everything set up around you, no rushing off to a salon, no one missing the slow coffee-and-robes part of the morning.
Our style is soft, natural and sun-kissed, made to suit the filtered hinterland light at Kwila and to last from a ceremony under the trees or by the creek through to the last dance in the timber lodge. We build looks that still feel like you, just the most luminous, relaxed version of you.
Getting ready at Kwila Lodge
Because Kwila has on-site accommodation, you can get ready right where you'll marry. The restored timber lodge gives us room to set up a proper styling station for the whole party, while the quieter on-site rooms suit a smaller, calmer morning. We bring our own chairs, lighting and kit, so wherever you base yourself we'll work around you.
This is a forest-and-garden property on the edge of Springbrook, so the light is soft and filtered through the trees rather than harsh and direct, which is beautiful for makeup. We position you near the big windows and lodge doorways to use that natural daylight, and we set your look knowing photos will move between dappled garden shade, the creekside and the warmer tones of the timber lodge.
Kwila sits up in the hinterland at Mudgeeraba, so we factor in the drive and the winding approach when we plan our arrival. Staying on-site the night before takes all the pressure off, you simply wake up where you'll get ready, and we time everything backwards from your ceremony so you're photo-ready with calm minutes to spare, not a scramble.

What time should hair and makeup start at Kwila Lodge? +
For a bride plus a small bridal party with a mid-afternoon ceremony, we usually start around 8 to 8:30 am. Because Kwila is up in the hinterland at Mudgeeraba we build in the drive, and we always finish with the bride so you're freshest for photos. Once we know your ceremony time and party size we'll send an exact run sheet.
Do you travel to Kwila Lodge for wedding hair and makeup? +
Yes, we're fully mobile and come to you. Mudgeeraba is well within our core Gold Coast area, roughly 30 minutes from the central Gold Coast, and we set up right at your lodge so you never have to leave the property on the morning.
How big a bridal party can you do at Kwila Lodge? +
Anything from an intimate elopement to a full party of the bride plus six to eight. As a trained duo we can both come for larger groups to keep everyone on time, or one of us looks after a smaller, quieter morning. Tell us your numbers and we'll bring the right setup.
Will my makeup last all day at an outdoor hinterland wedding? +
Yes. We build your look to hold through a garden or creekside ceremony, photos under the trees and dancing in the timber lodge. We use long-wear, sweat- and humidity-aware products suited to a Queensland outdoor day, and we leave you set with final touch-ups before we go.
