Getting ready at The Valley Estate, Currumbin Valley

Tucked into nine green acres of the Currumbin Valley, The Valley Estate is one of those rare Gold Coast venues where the whole day unfolds in one place — chapel, glasshouse, gardens and manor, all wrapped in hinterland. It is luxe and a little storybook, and it deserves a getting-ready morning that feels just as calm and considered as the rest of it.

That morning usually begins upstairs in The Sanctuary, the bridal suite set into the eaves of The Manor, with its towering ceilings, chandeliers and a balcony that looks down over where you'll celebrate. The window light up there is soft and directional — gorgeous for makeup, and gorgeous for those quiet photos of the final veil moment. We come to you, set up in that space, and let you stay put while the look comes together.

We're Tina and Kristen, a sister duo who are both fully trained in hair and makeup. For a Valley Estate wedding we'll either work side by side as a team of two to keep a bigger party moving, or take a bridal party each — whatever suits your numbers and your run sheet. Soft, natural, sun-kissed and built to last through a warm Currumbin afternoon and the dancing after.

Local knowledge

What we know about getting ready here

The space

The Sanctuary sits up in the eaves of The Manor with its own private entrance, high ceilings and chandeliers — and a balcony that overlooks the reception below. There's genuine room to spread out for a bridal party, so we set up our kit, you settle in, and nobody's crowding a hotel bathroom mirror. The Gentleman's Retreat handles the boys separately, so the morning stays unhurried.

The light

That suite gets beautiful soft, directional window light — the kind that's flattering for makeup and dreamy for prep photos. We position our chair to make the most of it. Out in the grounds the glasshouse and gardens throw gorgeous reflected light, and golden hour over the Currumbin Valley is something special, so we build your timing to leave you camera-ready well before portraits.

The timing

Because ceremony, photos and reception all happen on the one property, there's no transfer to factor in — but Valley Estate days often run an afternoon chapel ceremony to catch the light through the leadlight windows. We back-time everything from your ceremony so you're finished early, photos in the gardens are relaxed, and there's a calm gap to simply breathe before you walk.

Experience you can trust

A safe, known choice for a Valley Estate wedding

A luxe one-property venue like this rewards a beauty team that already understands how the day flows — where the good light is in the bridal suite, how an on-site chapel-to-garden timeline runs, and how to have you finished early so nothing feels rushed. We're both professionally trained in hair and makeup, fully insured, and completely at home in hinterland estate settings like The Valley Estate.

Being a sister duo means you get two calm, familiar faces who work seamlessly together — no rotating freelancers, no guesswork. We focus on soft, natural, long-wearing looks that photograph beautifully in that glasshouse-and-garden light and hold through a warm Currumbin afternoon, so you can relax and actually enjoy your morning.

Venue FAQs

What time should hair and makeup start for a wedding at The Valley Estate? +

For a typical afternoon chapel ceremony we usually arrive around 8am and start by 8:30am, finishing you as the bride about an hour before you need to be ready. That leaves a calm buffer for veil, detail photos in the gardens and a breather before you walk. We back-time a precise run sheet from your exact ceremony time once we know your party size.

Do you travel to The Valley Estate in Currumbin Valley? +

Yes — we're a fully mobile sister duo and The Valley Estate is right in our home patch. We come to you and set up in The Sanctuary bridal suite, so you and your bridesmaids get ready together on-site with no driving on the morning. Currumbin Valley is around 20 minutes from central Gold Coast for us, so travel is simple.

Can you do a whole bridal party, or just the bride? +

Both. We're each trained in hair and makeup, so we can come as a team of two to move a larger party through efficiently, or take a bridesmaid party each. Bride only is lovely too. The Sanctuary has plenty of room to spread out, so tell us your numbers and we'll bring the right plan and timing.

Will my makeup last through a warm Currumbin afternoon and into the night? +

That's exactly what we design for. We prep your skin properly and use long-wear, photo-friendly products chosen for Gold Coast humidity, so your look holds from an afternoon ceremony in the gardens through to dancing in the manor. We also leave you a small touch-up kit for the day.
