Getting ready at Gold Coast Farm House

Tucked deep into Numinbah Valley with national park country all around, Gold Coast Farm House feels a world away the moment you turn off the main road. Open paddocks, big fig trees, water on the property and the green ridgelines rising behind it all set a relaxed, country-bohemian mood — exactly the kind of natural light and setting our hair and makeup is made for. We're a sister duo who travel to you, so on your morning we come up the valley to the farm and set up wherever you're getting ready.

Because the getting-ready space is right here on the property, you're not packing up and driving anywhere before the ceremony. The verandahs and soft filtered light are lovely to work in, and being on-site keeps the whole morning calm and unhurried. We build your look to suit a long, warm day out in the open air, so it still feels like you by the time you walk down the aisle.

Whether you book the two of us together or just one of us, you get the person you met at your trial. We're both fully trained in hair and makeup, we bring everything with us, and we plan the timing around the valley drive so nobody is rushing as the cars arrive.

Local knowledge

What we know about getting ready here

The space

The on-site farmhouse is the easy choice — there's room for the whole party to spread out the night before and the morning of, so nobody is travelling on the day. The verandahs give us good space and lovely natural light to work in, and because you're already on the property there's no transfer before the ceremony. We bring our own chairs and station and set up wherever the light is best.

The light

This is an open valley, so the morning light shifts quickly — bright and clear across the paddocks, then softer and greener under the figs and near the water. We factor that into your skin and your eyes so you photograph beautifully whether your ceremony is out in the open or tucked under the trees. For full sun we lean into long-wear, transfer-resistant products that won't go shiny by mid-afternoon.

The timing

The farm sits deep in Numinbah Valley, roughly 45 minutes up from the coast, so we build a buffer into our arrival and start a little earlier rather than later. Most ceremonies here run late afternoon to catch the golden light over the paddocks, which gives us a relaxed window in the morning — no clock-watching, and plenty of time for photos with the bridal party before everyone heads to the ceremony spot.

A calm morning

Sample wedding-morning timeline

A sample morning for an afternoon ceremony at Gold Coast Farm House. We'll tailor exact times to your ceremony, party size and how far we're travelling.

From 7:30am
We arrive & set up
We drive up the valley and set up at the farmhouse, choosing the spot with the best natural light. Everything we need comes with us — no need to provide a thing beyond a powerpoint and a little bench space.
8:00am
Bridal party begins
We start on the bridesmaids and any mums or special guests, working through hair and makeup in an order that keeps everyone relaxed and on schedule while you ease into the day.
10:30am
The bride
We move to you once the party is well underway, so your hair and makeup is finished closer to photos and stays fresh. This is the unhurried part of the morning — exactly how it should feel.
12:30pm
Final touch-ups
Before we leave we lock everything in — lips, a final powder, veil or hairpiece placement — and leave you set for a long afternoon and evening out in the valley air.
Experience you can trust

A safe pair of hands for a hinterland wedding

Hinterland farm weddings have their own rhythm — open light, warm afternoons, a setting that's away from the conveniences of a hotel. We're comfortable here. We're both professionally trained in hair and makeup, fully insured, and we plan for the valley drive and the open-air light so nothing about your morning is left to chance.

When you book Tina Kristen Weddings you get the two of us — no assistants, no rotation of artists you've never met. The person who does your trial is the person who's there on the day, using products chosen to look natural and last through a long Numinbah Valley afternoon and evening.

Venue FAQs

Do you travel to Gold Coast Farm House for wedding hair and makeup? +

Yes — we're a fully mobile sister duo and the farm is well within our Gold Coast Hinterland area. We come up Numinbah Valley to you and set up at the farmhouse, so there's no travelling on your wedding morning. A small travel fee may apply depending on your party size; we'll confirm it in your quote.

What time should hair and makeup start at Gold Coast Farm House? +

For a typical late-afternoon ceremony we usually arrive around 7:30am and start by 8am. Because the farm is about 45 minutes up the valley from the coast, we build in a buffer and begin a touch earlier rather than later. Once we know your ceremony time and how many are getting ready, we'll send you a clear run sheet.

Can you do the whole bridal party, or just the bride? +

Both. We happily look after the bride on her own, or the full bridal party — bride, bridesmaids, mums and special guests. With two of us working together we can cover larger groups comfortably and still keep the morning calm. Just tell us numbers and we'll plan the timing around them.

Will my wedding makeup last all day in the open paddocks? +

Yes. We know this venue means a long day outdoors, often in full sun, so we use long-wear, transfer-resistant products and set everything properly. You can choose traditional or airbrush makeup. We also leave you set for touch-ups, and your look is built to hold from the ceremony right through to the evening.
